Mileage Checker

Privacy policy

Last updated: 14 September 2026

In short

Mileage Checker does not collect personal data. There is no account, no server of ours, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Everything you enter stays on your iPhone.

Who is responsible

Marco Knöbber. The postal address is in the legal notice. E-mail: apps.marco.knoebber@pm.me.

The app

What you enter stays on your device

Vehicles, odometer readings, settings and the photos you add are stored only in the app's storage on your iPhone. The app sends none of it anywhere, and I have no access to it. Like other app data, it is part of your iPhone's own backup in iCloud or on your computer if you use one; Apple's terms apply to those backups. Deleting the app deletes the data.

Camera and photos

The app asks for access to the camera or your photo library only when you choose to add a photo of a vehicle. It stores a reduced copy of the one photo you pick, in the app's own storage. It does not read your library otherwise.

Notifications

Reminders are scheduled on your iPhone itself. The app does not use a push service and does not register your device anywhere.

Purchasing Pro

Mileage Checker Pro is sold through Apple's App Store. Apple handles the payment; I receive no payment details and no information about who you are. The app stores on your iPhone only that Pro is unlocked and the identifier Apple gives the purchase. Apple's processing is covered by Apple's privacy policy.

Exports and diagnostics reports

A backup, a CSV export or a diagnostics report is created only when you tap it, and it leaves your iPhone only through the share sheet, to a destination you choose. The diagnostics report contains technical information only: app version, device model, iOS version, settings, time zone, the number of vehicles and entries, and recent error messages. It contains no vehicle names, licence plates, odometer readings, dates or photos.

If you write to me

If you send an e-mail, with or without a diagnostics report, I use its contents only to answer you and to fix the problem, and delete it once that is done. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR.
